With the most comprehensive bitumen roof sheets range globally, Corrapol® is easy to install on any type of roof. However, there is a correct way to fit these sheets in view of maximising lifespan.

One of the most popular roofing sheet types, the Corrapol-BT Bitumen roof sheets are not only very cost effective but also easy to install. No need to be an experienced tradesman, fitting and bitumen roof can be done by the most basic of DIYers.

We manufacture these sheets in four popular colours to suit a range of applications, including black, green, red and brown. Furthermore, all our patented flashing systems, like the Rock N Lock® Gable flashing, are colour matched to provide a stunning overall aesthetic.

How to install corrugated bitumen roofing

    1. Safety first – please take the required safety precautions
    2. Start by selecting a Rock N Lock® Wall Flashing if against a side wall or a gable Rock N Lock® if open sided
    3. Cut a mitre on the Rock N Lock® flashing to suit the pitch
    4. Cut the Rock N Lock down to sits your roof, allowing for a max 70mm overhang. Use a metal-compatible blade.
    5. Flashings are fixed on the top or side approx. every 250mm using a drill and screws. Select a suitable 5mm metal drill bit and pre-drill fixing holes along the length
    6. Starting on the roof edge opposite the prevailing wind direction
    7. Lay out the corrugated eaves fillers approx. 145mm from the edge and pin down. Corrapol® eaves fillers should be used every purlin or fixing row
    8. Start at the bottom of the roof and lay the first Corrapol® BT Sheet in place
    9. Rock N Lock® the flashing in place – it’s that easy!
    10. Screw in the corrugated flashing to secure using stainless Screw Fixings
    11. Secure the first bitumen sheet using Corrapol® flexi cap screw fixings
    12. Always fix sheets through the corrugation peaks, never through the troughs
    13. Use corrugated fixings on every corrugation top and bottom. For intermediate fixing rows fix screws every second corrugation
    14. Overlapping against the prevailing wind direction, continue to fix the first row of sheets
    15. On every second row start with a half sheet. Follow our video guide for cutting bitumen roof sheets to size
    16. Cutting corrugated bitumen is easy, however, you can also increase the overlap to avoid cutting sheets to size
    17. Once the sheets are screwed down, Rock N Lock® a flashing on the opposite roof edge to finish
    18. If it’s a lean-to roof, use a Top Wall Flashing to flash against the back wall
    19. For Free-standing or Pent Roofs use our Pent Roof Flashing
    20. If you have an Apex roof use our Super Ridge to create a watertight ridgeline
